Looking at Celebratory Pie

To celebrate the 4th of July and to serve with the dinner I made for saintvi, Seedsower, and JoyousWind, I made pie. It was a very tasty pie – rhubarb mango peach. I used my regular rhubarb pie recipe but tweaked it to give it a little more exotic flavor in keeping with the mango component. The secret ingredient was cardamom. I added just a 1/8 teaspoon in addition to the cinnamon, nutmeg and a touch of cloves. You will just have to take my word for it that it was delicious.

Can you make out the bottle rocket and exploding fireworks??

    1. Yes but you are still the Pie Queen! Your Spiced Pear Pie is the bomb!!! And I’m glad I could expand Joyous Wind’s horizons – guess she likes rhubarb pie after all!


    1. Sometimes I make pictures on my pies and no one can figure out what I was drawing! The mangoes and the peaches complimented each other and went well with rhubarb. I usually make rhubarb pineapple or rhubarb peach but I had to use what I had on hand! It was delicious!


    1. You poor deprived dear. Rhubarb is called “pie plant” and is the penultimate pie filling. You have not lived (at least not well) if you haven’t sampled rhubarb pie!!!
